Indian Broccoli

Description:
Broccoli with indian "gravy"
Ingredients:

1 teaspoon (or to taste) garam masala or curry powder
2 cloves garlic, crushed or minced
1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, peel removed, mashed and chopped
1 yellow onion, chopped fine
3 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 small can diced tomatoes drained, or 1 fresh tomato, chopped
6 oz low-salt chicken (or vegetable) broth
1 head Broccoli

Directions:

Cut medium sized broccoli florets
Take broccoli stem and remove tough outer peel with vegetable peeler or knife, then slice on a diagonal into oval coins or similar shapes.
Heat oil in pan.
Add spice mix directly to oil and saute 30 seconds or until fragrant
Add garlic, ginger and onion and saute over medium heat until onion is soft
Add tomatoes and cook until soft and tomatoes break down, 5 minutes or so.
Add broccoli and chicken broth
Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until broccoli is soft and remaining ingredients have created a "gravy". Add more broth if sauce is too thick.
Sprinkle with some garam masala and serve with rice
